Forest School
Set in our superb woodland grounds, our dedicated Forest School is at the very heart of the Early Years education at King’s Hall and is one of the features that sets us apart from other schools.
Whether children are squelching through puddles, scrambling over tree roots or building dens and campfires, this outdoor environment is one of the best classrooms they can experience.
Among the experiences in which children are involved are:
- Buidling pixie homes,
- Making puppets from natural materials and creating an outdoor shadow theatre for a show.
- Planting bulbs and sunflower seeds
- Making charcoal pencils and many other activities
- Projects designed to build their independence, self-esteem and problem solving skills.
- Activities learning to work together and as part of a team
‘Forest School is a highlight for many of the children and is often supported by enthusiastic parents as well as the staff which enables it to continue to play a valuable role in the education of our youngest children.
