Who runs Pelican Explorers?

Pelican Explorers is overseen by Mrs Claire Luckhurst. Claire is the Head of Pre-Prep at King's Hall School and has over 20 years of experience in the early years sector. A team of friendly and experienced nursery staff will also be on hand to help.

Who can attend?

The Pelican Explorers programme is suitable for children aged 3-4, allowing pre-school pupils the opportunity to socialise and learn through child-initiated play. While initially aimed at 3-4 year olds, siblings under the age of 3 are able to attend free of charge.

When and where will Pelican Explorers run?

Pelican Explorers will launch the week commencing Monday 9 September 2019 and conclude on Friday 29 November 2019. There will be a break from 19 - 27 October to coincide with half term. All activities will take place in our Pre-Prep department.

How do I pay?

After completing our enquiry form, you will receive an email from Claire Luckhurst confirming your place on your activities. You will also receive details on how to pay for your membership and classes. We are only able to accept payment by cheque or BACS.

What is included in the joining fee?

To become part of the Explorers family, there will be a £20 joining fee. This will cover the cost of your child's welcome pack (which includes a bag, t-shirt and branded goodies), and will also grant you access to a number of exclusive classes and social events.

What happens if I miss a session?

Not to worry! If you a miss a session, we will help you to catch up on what you missed. If possible, please do send let us know in advance if you are unable to make it. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds at this time.

What do I need to bring?

We aim to provide everything you will need, but do advise that children wear suitable, activity-appropriate clothing. Hockey Nippers will also need to bring their own shin pads (compulsory), and mouthguards are highly recommended.

Can I choose different classes each week?

We encourage you to sign up to as many or as few classes as you wish. Each block of 10 classes costs £50. For example, if you signed up for Hockey Nippers, you would be able to attend all 10 classes. We are unable to offer a mixture of 10 different sessions.

Can I have a taster session?

Yes! We understand that you may not want to commit to a class right away, which is why we are happy to offer one taster session per activity. This will, of course, be dependent on space. Each session will cost £5, covering the usual cost of an individual class.
