Creative Arts

Creative arts – encompassing art, music and drama – are a central part of the curriculum at King’s Hall and ones for which the school has a recognised strength. The aim is to develop pupils’ creative, imaginative and practical skills; explore issues and develop a sense of morality and values; and encourage children to be confident individuals. The school has outstanding drama facilities comprising a specialist theatre with raked seating and professional quality lighting and sound systems. Class music is included in the curriculum for all age groups and nearly two thirds of pupils also receive individual instrumental tuition.

Various art workshops, visits, competitions and a Summer Exhibition.
Annual ‘Big Draw Event’ encourages children to take part in creative activities.
Major drama production staged each term for different age groups.
Drama activities form an integral part of on-going subject-based topic work.
A principal orchestra, as well as several specialist groups and bands.
Major school concert held each term.
