Author visits have become a regular feature of our library. Just a few months ago we welcomed children’s author Tracey Corderoy, who delivered a spellbinding workshop to our Pre-Prep pupils and local nurseries.

Building on the success of this visit, we decided to cater for our older pupils by welcoming Robin Stevens, an American author best known for her Murder Most Unladylike series and popular detective novel, The Guggenheim Mystery.

During the morning, Robin delivered a colourful presentation. Her talked covered a range of topics, including the inspiration behind some of her most beloved stories, her plans for the future, and even a reading from her brand-new novel, Top Marks for Murder. Pupils were also able to take part in a Q&A session before a book-signing.

After lunch, pupils in Year 6 were treated to a fascinating creative writing workshop in which they examined a “crime scene” before devising their own murder mystery narratives. And in true Murder Most Unladylike style, the afternoon was rounded off with a delicious “bun break.”
