Bronze for King's Hall Scientists at Salters' Festival of Chemistry
Last week, four King’s Hall students took part in the prestigious Salters’ Institute Festival of Chemistry at the University of Bristol.
The festival is a nationwide competition designed to seek out students with great practical and problem-solving skills, whilst promoting the appreciation of chemistry and related sciences.
Taking part in this year’s competition were Year 7 pupils Hettie Chippendale and Thomas Herbert, and Year 8 pupils Harry Cartwright and Robbie McSwiggan.
The budding scientists competed in a series of practical challenges and ended the day taking home bronze awards – a fantastic achievement considering they were up against a tough pool of schools.
Head of Science, Joe Hayden said: “I am immensely proud of our pupils for putting in a great effort, working hard as a team and proudly representing the school. They have done a fantastic job against some really tough competition, and most importantly, are still buzzing about science!”
