This morning’s assembly witnessed the big reveal of this year’s summer show: ‘Maui Catches the Sun’. This is always a highlight of the summer term for both children and staff but made even more exciting this year by its link to the recent Disney film, ‘Moana’!
‘Maui Catches the Sun’ brings to life one of the most famous Maori legends which tells of Maui’s daring quest to bring more sunlight to the struggling people of Aotearoa. We found out today this will involve lots of singing, dancing, humour and traditional Maori songs as well as a special version of the Hakka.
With so much to learn it will soon be time to dust off the dancing shoes to plan the choreography, pick up a paintbrush to paint the scenery and make a grass skirt or several!
I can’t wait!!!!
